About us

The Australian Art Print Network was established in 1996 with the aim of creating opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists to work in the medium of fine art printmaking and develop a market locally and internationally for their prints.

The Network's aim is to

  • foster a commitment to excellence in the publishing and sale of indigenous prints
  • provide support for the arts in indigenous communities
  • maximise the returns and opportunities for the artists it represents
  • uphold the charter of the Australian Indigenous Art Trade Association of which the Network is a foundation member
  • become a signatory and comply with the recently introduced Indigenous Australian Art Commercial Code of Conduct.

In recent years the Network has been working closely with artists from Far North Queensland and the Torres Strait Islands. It acts as the agent for the high profile, Torres Strait Islander artists, Dennis Nona, Alick Tipoti and Ken Thaiday Snr. A demonstration of this commitment to the region has seen the recent opening of a 1,000 square metre arts facility in Cairns that includes exhibiting galleries, a printmaking studio and artist's studios.

 

 

Shipping

We ship prints around Australia and overseas regularly. Custom made, extremely robust, tubes are used to ensure the prints arrive safely at their destination.

The PayPal shopping cart will calculate the freight cost. Within Australia prints are sent registered mail. 

PLEASE NOTE: all sculptures are freight POA (price on application). The shopping cart shows the sculpture cost ONLY and is exclusive of freight.

Overseas orders are sent airmail which takes a maximum of 10 days to most destinations. Freight charges may vary depending upon destination, minimum freight is calculated upon order placement.

A door to door courier service is available nationally and internationally for urgent or large orders. You will need to contact us for a price.


If an Aboriginal painting is out of your budget or you’re looking for something a bit different, consider buying an Aboriginal print. This gallery has Sydney’s biggest selection (over 300 works) at very reasonable prices. Expect to pay from $125 up to $2000 for framed or unframed rare and current limited-edition prints. Beautiful screen-prints, lithographs, etchings, woodcuts, linocuts and mixed-media works are available. Many of Australia’s leading indigenous artists from Arnhem Land, the Central and Western Deserts, the Kimberley and the Tiwi and Torres Strait Islands are represented. Easily accessible on Oxford St between Riley and Crown Sts, the quality and diversity of prints here makes this gallery worth visiting.
